My First Order

I just love to make homemade gifts for people whenever I can, to me it is so much more personal, is one of a kind, crafted with love and just plain fun.

I used to sell items on eBay and also had an etsy store, but life happened and both of those things ceased.  Circumstances are different now so it's time to get back to doing things I love, which is making handmade/homemade things.

Yesterday I packaged and shipped out my very first notecard order.  All pictures on these notecards have been taken by me and will be available in my etsy store as well as on my upcoming website.

We will have an assortment of items and all of them will be homemade/handmade.

This is our "DAISIES ARE MINE" notecard set.  This set was inspired by one of my dearest and best friends, my BEAUTIFUL Daisy. This set comes with 4 different daisy/barn photos.

These photos were taken out in our side yard on the farm.

It was a gorgeous, sunny afternoon with a gentle breeze blowing.
One of those days where you just want to stay outside and just soak in all the warmth from the sun.

I love photography and will be having more photo notecards available very soon.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I pray your day will be peaceful, joyfull and filled with unexpected blessings!

Weathering Any Storm

This photo is of two of my dearest friends taken down by the lake near their home several years ago. When I was editing this shot, something made me put it in black and white, add some highlights, high definition and an ominous sky. I wondered for a good while why I had felt the need to do that. Then I saw it. These two have weathered through many a storm together, but their strong faith and love of God has brought them through each and every one, safely to the other side. They know that with putting Him first in their lives and marriage, there is NOTHING they can't get through or accomplish together! 💕

"A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken!"
~Ecclesiastes 4:12~

Love you both to God and back! ❤

Pressure Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

The other day I was SO COLD I know I was going to have to make a pot of soup for dinner.  I searched for an easy chicken recipe since I had plenty of that on hand.  I found one for the pressure cooker which I actually had every ingredient for....not something that happens every day.

For this recipe you will need.........
  • 2 Large Chìcken Breasts
  • 12 oz your favorìte salsa
  • 6 Cups Chìcken Broth
  • 1 onìon, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, dìced
  • 2 teaspoons cumìn
  • 1 tablespoon chìlì powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 15oz can black beans, draìned and rìnsed
  • 2 cups frozen corn

In pressure cookìng pot, add chìcken, salsa, chìcken broth

    onìon, bell pepper, .

salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cumìn, chìlì powder,
and tomato paste. I didn't have any tomato paste so I used diced tomatoes, drained.

    Stìr together.

Lock lìd and set to hìgh pressure for 10 mìnutes. When tìme ìs up, allow pressure to naturally release for 10 mìnutes and then use a quìck release to get all the remaìnìng pressure out.
Remove lid and shred chicken using two forks. Set pressure cooker to “simmer” setting and add black beans and corn. Stir until corn is heated through.
Ladle into bowls and top with a squeeze of lime juice, a dollop of sour cream or greek yogurt, a few sprigs of cilantro, chopped green onion, chopped avocado, and crushed tortilla chips.

This recipe was easy and very tasty.  Because I used diced tomatoes instead of tomato paste, my soup was a bit on the thin side.  To thicken it I sprinkled in instant potato flakes until it reached the thickness I was wanting.

If you make this recipe, please come back and let me know how you liked it!

    Blessings~

    Night Guard

I have been having severe pain on the right side of my face, down the side of my head from my ear to my jaw and my teeth on the bottom right and the top in the front. I went to the dentist because the pain was bad. After an exam and x-rays she said my teeth were great and that the pain was from grinding and clenching my teeth.  She suggested I get a night guard. Our dental insurance covers a great deal but unfortunately, a $525 guard is not one of them.

Bean (our youngest daughter) had gotten a night guard from a company called CHEECKY.COM for a lot less than our dentist's fee PLUS they had a special going on for 20% off your subscription.  Your subscription is a year at a time, sending you a guard every 3 months.  The cost is $149 for the year if you choose to pay all at once or you can do the tri-monthly plan which would be the cost of the kit and $35 every 3 months. I didn't have all that upfront so I went with the latter.

They send you a kit with everything you need to make two impressions.
First you try both a pink and a green one to determine which size bets fits your mouth.
These two substances are like very soft silly-putty.  Separate they don't do much but when you squish them together, they active each other and start to get hard.

You smoosh and squeese the two colors together, working quickly till it becomes one consistent pink color.  Take your mixture and make two pieces.

Quickly take the first half and make a log, putting it in one side of the mold.
Then take the other half and shape it into another log and do the same on the other side.
Put the mold into your mouth and bite down, pushing the mold back towards your front teeth.
Put the timer on for 3:30 seconds. Gently pull the mold off your teeth.
(sorry I forgot to take a picture of it in my mouth)
You do this two times. When you are done, put both of the molds in separate plastic bags.

Put the bags with your molds back in the original box.

Put the box in the self addressed mailer that came in your kit and drop at your local post office or in a drop box.  It really is easy and very affordable.  Praying this will alleviate all of my pain.

    BRRR

Last night I didn't hear my alarm to check the wood stove go off and it went out.  It was only 21* this morning by the time I got up and was a tad chilly in the house and I was down to my last three pieces of wood.
Kiddo and I brought in a load of wood, making sure to get a few big pieces so I wouldn't have to load it as much, allowing it to burn longer.
I am so glad I was able to get it roaring.  After about an hour it was hot enough to add a bigger piece, making the living room was nice and cozy again!

    A Heating Pad & A Blanket

Yesterday morning I woke up with a pulled muscle on the right side of my neck. I didn't do much of anything except sit with a heating pad on, watch tv, fold laundry and do some sewing.
This blanket I was fixing belonged to my Mom.  We heat solely with wood here on the farm so the house is usually on the chilly side.  I keep blankets on the couch at all times be ause I am ways cold, even during the summer.
Our newest furbaby, Trexie, is a puppy still and even though she has done really well, she is still in the "chewing" mode.  I am praying this ends soon.   We've never had a puppy before so this kind of behavior is new to us.

Well, time for me to get back to my mending, these holes won't dress themselves!

    Sunday FUN Day

Trexie is a very active young lady who needs lots of exercise.  We don't have a fenced in area for her to run so with "doggie bags" in hand, we took Trexie and her brother Otis to our local park and let them loose in one of the fenced in fields.
She loves to play fetch but has not mastered "BRING IT HERE" yet.
She runs to fetch but then 9 out of 10 times
she will get it but then immediately fall to the ground and  start chomping away.
     Daddy.....
     and his buddy, Otis.💓💓

    So much energy!

A much needed day for all!

    💓 OH, THAT FACE! 💓
