A Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY. . . . . .simple-woman-daybook-small

Outside my window... this morning we had a light rain, but now it is sunny and warm, with a gentle breeze blowing

I am thinking... there is so much I want to do in the yard already.  Thinking about where to put the garden

I am thankful... for my salvation, for the love of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, my family, and for My Skippy Man.....I truly don't deserve them!

I am creating... some new clothespins, making patterns for my clothespin bags, and designing a quilt for me.  I normally don't keep what I  make, so I decided to make one for myself this time

I am hoping... the pictures I took at my niece's wedding came out.  I left my computer in my sister's van when she dropped me off this morning, so I haven't had a chance to look at them

I am looking forward to... enjoying a nice quiet evening with My Skippy Man.  We have been gone since Thursday morning.........I have missed him terribly!

I am pondering... I was actually pondering a couple of things:
1 - Why do phone companies give you a number to call if your phone doesn't work?
2 - Why does unscented hairspray smell?
3 - What is Mother Goose's real first name?
4 - How do they unclog mail chutes in skyscrapers?

A quote for today...
"If you tickle the earth with a hoe she laughs with a harvest!"  - Douglas William Jerrold

One of my favorite things...old barns, they have such amazing stories to tell

A few plans for the rest of the week...unpack from our trip, clean up the yard, take donations to the thrift store, plant some seeds

A peek into my day...
I just LOVE my ladies!!!  Meredith, one of our seven Amberlink hens, really enjoys sunbathing.  Here she had just finished her soak, and is now enjoying the pretty daffodils

FOR TODAY... January 10, 2011

Outside my window... it is overcast. We are expecting snow, but how much has not yet been determined

I am thinking... about how cold I am and that I just can't seem to get warm! :> (

I am thankful for...
at least being able to sit right next to the wood stove! lol

From the Learning Rooms...
we are starting our Consumer Math section today. We will be studying time management and learn how to budget our time

I am wearing... pajamas, slippers, a blanket and my cats and dog

I am reading...
blogs this morning

I am hoping... for SNOW! I know, I'm freezing and yet I want snow. CRAZY, but I love snow!

On my mind… the salvation of all my family members

From the kitchen..
today, I need to remember to take the roast out for dinner. I think I'll go do that now.......BRB

I am creating... lots of ideas in my head. Now, if I could actually get them down on paper!

I am hearing...
the ceiling fan, my computer, birds chirping, and Kiddo in the other room playing some kind of music! lol

Noticing that…
Kiddo is in desperate need of a haircut! lol

Around the house...
I really need to dust, however this is something I truly HATE to do and will put it off as long as I possibly can

One of my favorite things...
is burning scented candles. Apple pie, hazelnut, mulled cider, and pumpkin pie are my favorites

A Scripture thought...
"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones!" Proverbs 17:22

A few plans for the rest of the week...
clean the chicken house, load up on kindling for the wood stove, clean out the van and take pictures for Craig's List, set started on some sewing and embroidery work that didn't get started last week

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Andrea and I at a Beth Moore conference in September!

Have a great Monday!

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY... from Laura's Daybook

I am thinking... of how much time son has wasted this morning arguing over doing his school work

I am thankful for...
for My Skippy Man ~ He is truly amazing!

From the Learning Rooms...
we are trying out a new school schedule and so far, it is not going very well. However, I will not be discouraged.....I will press on!

I am wearing... my pajamas :> )

I am reading...
my Bible, cover to cover

I am hoping...PRAYING... for the salvation of my children

On my mind… how I'm going to make it through this school day

From the kitchen..
I will be making out a menu for the week. Tonight, I think we're going to have these for dinner!

I am creating...hand-embroidered pillows to sell

I am hearing...
my precious pug, Pheobe, snoring while sleeping next to the wood stove

Noticing that…
the family room is a MESS

Around the house...
are remnants of our wonderful Christmas

One of my favorite things... spending time out on the porch in the mornings with a hot cup of coffee, listening to the birds serenade me while talking with my Father!

A Scripture thought...

"I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD. "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future!" Jeremiah 29:11

A few plans for the rest of the week...
making myself a "TO DO" list and a cleaning schedule, and getting started on doing some sewing and crafting as well

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

I am thinking...that there is a TON of laundry to do and lots of weeds to pull

I am thankful for...that I live in a country where I can freely worship Jesus Christ

From the learning rooms...we are finished with testing and will be taking a break for a bit. We will still do reading, spelling, and some handwriting over the summer, otherwise it will be SO HARD to get Kiddo back into the swing of it in the fall

From the kitchen...I am making homemade chicken soup for dinner

I am wearing...my nightgown

I am creating...a mess in my kitchen

I am going...to my sister's to feed the cats and the fish, and maybe even enjoy a little A/C
