What a great idea.  Dollar Tree.....here I come!!

I NEED SOME HELP!!

I NEED SOME HELP!!  I have been so busy lately that I have let many things go.  Organization has never been one of my strong suits so when things get hectic it is very easy to become OvErWhElMeD!!!  I wanted to come up with a plan of attack that wouldn't last for just one day.  I searched the internet and asked friends what they do to keep their homes running smoothly and the answer they gave was almost always the same.......THE FLY LADY!  So of course, I had to check her out and I have to say, I LOVE HER!

I have subscribed to her videos on YouTube and also for her daily e-mails, which are geared towards whatever level you are on.  I am a newbie to the "organized world of cleaning schedules" so I am on the "Baby Step" level.  I am now known as a FlyBaby and my first task as a FlyBaby is to clean my sink and make it SHINE!!! (hmm....doesn't sound too difficult for my first day!) I also love that she has a MONTHLY HABIT and for August it is laundry.  

I'm trying to get caught up so My Skippy Man has clean uniforms for work, sooooo.......
I'm spending the day with this bad boy.....and a couple of pots of coffee!

I am PRAYING I can stick to her schedule and get our home running efficiently again.  I would like to spend my evenings with my family instead of scrubbing floors or picking lint out of the dryer vents.

YES!

WOOO HOOO. . . . .SNOW'S A COMIN! 

We are in a winter storm warning here until 6:00 pm tomorrow evening, with possible accumulations of 4-8 inches, 5-10 in the higher elevations.  Now that's what I'm talkin' about! 

I am so glad that we have a huge wood pile out in the back.  Skippy was outside this afternoon, chopping, sorting, hauling, stacking, and covering.  We went out to Food Lion afterwards and got a few of the snow essentials....milk, cocoa powder, and peanut butter cups!  LOL!

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!

And My Surprise Was...................

Goose's Christmas present to her mother-in-law and I were tickets to go see Paula Deen in Washington, DC. To top it all off, Paula brought some special guests with......her husband Michael, and her two HANDSOME sons, Jamie and Bobby.
We took count to see how many times she said Ya'll. It was 58 times! lol Hey, ya'll.......that's Paula!!

It was a wonderful time of cooking, Q&A times, and just having FUN!

THANK YOU, GOOSE! It was an amazing day!

Christmas In November

WAHOO COOKIE!!! THIS IS SO COOL!

Today I am SO EXCITED to be going on a road trip with Goose and her mother-in-law. Goose is giving us our Christmas gift early and I am SOOOOO EXCITED!!! Can you tell? I have charged the batteries for my camera and I'm raring to go!

Do you think you can guess what our gift is? I'll give you a hint; it involves LOTS of BUTTER and the word YA'LL! :> 0

Homemade Laundry Detergent

Did you know that you can make your own homemade laundry detergent with only 3 ingredients? Ok, well, actually 4, if you include the water! :> 0

I have been making my own detergent since May of 2007 and I just LOVE IT! I don't find any difference in comparison with regular store bought detergent. This recipe is also great for HEFL (High Efficiency Front Loaders).
