Winter's Coming

After a few days of having to switch gears in a direction no one ever wants to go, we were able to get back to some of the things on our To Do list, one of which is splitting wood.  My Skippy Man still insists on not letting me help with any of the outside chores so I check on him from time to time and make sure he has water or whatever else he needs.

Wood is our only source of heat so we have to make sure we have a huge supply of it to make it through the winter months.  This is just a small portion of what we will need.  I am so very thankful we were able to purchase a log splitter last year.  Before we purchased it, Skippy would spend at least three hours each evening after working all day, doing it all by hand.....cutting down dead trees in the field with the chain saw, hauling it up to the house and then splitting it all with an ax.  It was very time consuming and very physically demanding.  

Over the next two months, it will more than likely be an everyday occurrence to make sure we fill the shed and have an extra stockpile on the ready in case of extremely bad weather.

Sunday FUN Day

Trexie is a very active young lady who needs lots of exercise.  We don't have a fenced in area for her to run so with "doggie bags" in hand, we took Trexie and her brother Otis to our local park and let them loose in one of the fenced in fields.

 She loves to play fetch but has not mastered "BRING IT HERE" yet.

 She runs to fetch but then 9 out of 10 times 

she will get it but then immediately fall to the ground and  start chomping away.

Today was a busy day.  I went to a Mary & Martha party given by two of my dear friends, picked up Skippy up at Bean's house after a week of grandpuppy sitting and then to Lowe's to look for flooring, as well as a few other things. We enjoyed the day and took advantage of this GORGEOUS weather and dined alfresco at CHECKER'S.   

I am so thankful to have been able to spend most of today with these two amazing men.

I am thankful and so very blessed to have such a wonderful husband who loves us deeply. He gets up so early every morning, works so hard to provide for his family, doesn't want me to have to work so I can be home to be with Kiddo and to be available to serve others in whatever capacity is needed.  He is MY HERO.

A Prayer For My Husband

Dear Lord,

I pray that my husband knows his purpose in life. Reveal to him what You desire him to do.  He is a man of many talents, a man of skills, a man of worthiness, a man with ability and a man with a heart to fulfill purpose.  I pray my husband will receive supernatural confidence, a motivator to help him follow through with anything You ask of him. I pray that his ears are sensitive to Your voice and that has has such an intimate relationship with You that he never misses an invitation to join You. 

I pray my husband will have the courage to fulfill his extraordinary purpose in life and that he sees it as such.  Holy Spirit, please remove any ounce of self-doubt from him so that he does not miss out on fulfilling that purpose.  Guard his life and his heart. Defend him against the enemy as he seeks to love You and do Your will. Clarify the calling You have for him and equip him so that he may be a good and faithful servant for You.  I ask this all in Your precious and Holy name....Amen!

I have a very bad sinus infection which ended up with me at Urgent Care this morning. My Skippy Man has been such a good sport and has taken such good care of me today. He made me soup, brought me tissues and bought me cough drops and a Vick's Inhaler. Before he went to bed, he made sure I had a cup of hot tea with lemon and the tv remote. What a sweetheart! Thank you, sweetie!

This Willow Tree piece was a gift from My Skippy Man a few years ago. It has gone through some very rough times; being knocked off the shelf and having my head being broken off on two or three occasions but each time it is glued back together. This reminds me so much of how our marriage has been. We have had many rough patches with lots of ups and downs but each time, through much prayer and turning it over to God, we have been able to glue us back together!

My Skippy Man secretly searched and found these wooden red handled utensils after I told him I wanted to decorate a Christmas tree in these for my kitchen next year. Now I just need a tree and red ceramic colander for the stand! 😀 Thank you, sweetie....I LOVE THEM!

365/4 My heart has been so pressed upon to change my priorities and one of them, along side with my quiet time with the Lord being NON-NEGOTIABLE, is praying for my husband and my family. So, to start things off I am using THIRTY-ONE PRAYERS FOR MY HUSBAND. Each day there is a specific prayer for a specific area in our husband's life, with a section to add more requests to make it more specific to him. We can NEVER pray enough for our husbands!
