28th Anniversary Weekend Getaway

Skippy took me away for a couple of days for our 28th anniversary, of which the location was unknown to me.  But before we could go, he made me play Hang Man.  If I guessed it right, I got to go.  If I guessed wrong.....Skippy was going without me! lol

As we approached the driveway, Skippy made me close my eyes.  When I opened them, I was taken aback by the absolute beauty of our surroundings.  The pictures do not do our little hideaway justice!

Hamlet at Frenchman's Pond
Wood burning stove in the stone room :D
Sofa bed
Getting in and sitting in the hot jacuzzi was
WONDERFUL.....
getting out, well......mmmm....not so much!
lol

We made our own meals.......
We had Ruebens.....

 with seasoned sweet potato fries
A pork roast with T.O.E. Jam Marmalade
(tangerine, orange and elderberry)
 And fruit to snack on
(the watermelon was in the fridge)
and other delicious meals
We pulled the mattress off the sofa bed and
slept in front of the fire.
AHHHH..............HEAVEN!!!

My favorite place to be
Hot tea and coffee by the fire or down by the pond.
The magical hour - I absolutely LOVE the way
everything looks at that time - the sun is starting to set

We sat in the rockers and gazed out on the pond

 The reflection in the pond
was AMAZING!

  And walked around it.
 I LOVED THIS BRIDGE
We had a picnic of mixed nuts and apples with
caramel dip down along the bank.
YUMM!!!

After our picnic, we tried out the self-timer on my camera.
Skippy was such a good sport!
lol

I love this picture of Skippy.
He was so relaxed there
Just relaxing in the rockers

The temperature got up to 72* while we were there.
It's hard to believe two days later we had 7 1/2 inches of snow!

I loved our cabin in the woods and didn't want to come back.
Goodbye, Hamlet at Frenchman's Pond.........
until next year!

Dream Vacation/Destination

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls!"
Matthew 11:28-29

When the weather gets cold, many people are wishing they were somewhere warmer. My daughter, Goose, and her husband, Tang, will be going on an all-inclusive trip to CANCUN, MEXICO in December for ten days of total SUNSHINE & BLISS! (lucky dawgs!) They are soooo excited to finally be going on their "DREAM VACATION/HONEYMOON!" Goose said, "I can't wait to be lying on the beach, soaking up the warm temperatures and the sunshine while the rest of you are back home possibly shoveling out and FREEZING!" lol

Well, all this talk about vacations got me thinking about where I would like to go on my "dream vacation/destination" and it didn't take me long at all to decide. One day, I want to go to Jerusalem and walk along the same streets my precious Lord and Savior walked while on this earth. How AMAZING that would be!

IF you could go anywhere..........where would your "dream vacation/destination" be?

What A Weekend

I wish I knew the right words to use to describe this weekend at the Beth Moore conference in Richmond. Let me tell you, this lady NEVER disappoints! She is truly a woman of God with a passionate love for Christ!

We left on Friday afternoon by bus, and arrived in Richmond around 3:45 - 4:00. We had a little more than an hour to unload and relax for a bit.........

before heading down to the hotel restaurant for a past buffet dinner with my roomies, G-Girl and Blondie. We had such a blast rooming together....well, at least G-Girl and I did, Blondie zonked out early. G-Girl and I were up till after 2:00 laughing so hard, we couldn't breathe. Gotta love your girlfriends!

Then it was off to an evening of Praise & Worship withTravis Cottrell...........

and Beth Moore.

"There's no better place to be than on your knees before God!"

There were over 9,000 women in attendance. When all of these woman sang together acapella......talk about a heavenly choir. WOW!

I was blessed to have been sitting between two of those angelic voices; one was G-Girl, and the other was..............................
my sweet friend Andrea, from Arise2Write. I am so glad that she was able to join us this weekend. Thank you, Andrea, for coming with us. You are AWESOME!

I am already looking forward to our next Women's Weekend in April. Anyone interested?
