Well, here I am on day 3 of the Dress Challenge. Since I started on Sunday, I am counting myself ahead of Renee! LOL
Somehow last week, Renee and I got ourselves into a challenge of seeing if we could wear a dress/skirt everyday for a week. Well, I thought we started yesterday, only to find out it was today.
Well, yesterday when I got back, I realized that I had forgotten to water my pansies in my flower boxes on the front porch. I tried watering them with the watering can first, but since the boxes are a little tilted and my soil was bone dry, it just kept running way from the plants. This is when I had my "AHA" moment. So, I ran back inside, filled a small pitcher with ice, then went back out and put some around my plants. It was so warm out yesterday, that within minutes, my dry pansies were well watered from the melting cubes.
This song was written by the wife of the musical group "Selah"s lead singer.... while pregnant with their fourth daughter. It was written as a love letter, a song, to Audrey, the precious daughter living inside her. Titled “I Will Carry You,” Angie wrote it as a way to tell Audrey about experiences she longed to have with her, but knew the two would never share. Their precious little one was loved, hugged, kissed, and held for about two-and-a-half hours before she peacefully left the arms of her mother and into the arms of our Heavenly Father. Her parents, sisters, and many relatives were all there to see her beautiful face.
On Good Friday, Skippy and I went to Tractor Supply to look for some gardening items I needed. We did not find what I was looking for, but we did come across something even BETTER! They had one tub of baby ducks and two tubs and one big barrel, full of baby chicks. They were so BEAUTIFUL! They were so tiny, all of which were only one day old.
Rhode Island Reds are rarely broody. They are a utility bird, being raised for meat and eggs. (only for eggs, here) They are a popular choice for backyard flocks because of their egg laying abilities ( laying up to 260 eggs per year) even through cold periods,but if the coop temperature drops below freezing (0 °C (32 °F)), their output drops considerably, and the tips of their combs become very susceptible to frostbite
I want to get a rooster as well, but Skippy's not too keen on the idea at the moment. Once we get the chickens and is around them, I think he will just fall in love with them like I have and will eventually come around to having another "male" around the house!
About two weeks ago, my sister and I went to the airport to pick up our my nephew, Paul. He came to VA to be reunited with, and do a "10 Year Reunion" gig with his band. He was only here for four days, but most of that time was spent with his band practicing for their big show that Friday night.. Whenever he wasn't busy practicing, we would try and seize the opportunity and and get together with him. I have to say, four days was NOT ENOUGH TIME to spend with Paul. He is such a WONDERFUL young man with the biggest smile and a sense of humor to match! He has a heart of gold.
