So, without further ado....I would like to show you a just a

ROFLOL!
With God at the center of our lives, even the simplest of things are infused with peace and joy!

Well, this weekend has been a little tiring for Skippy (I just LOVE this picture of him!!). In addition to his full time and part time job, he has also managed to fit in a motorcylce class to get his"official" riders license. He was at class Friday evening, from 5:30-10:30 and then again yesterday, from 6:30-10:30.I went out to the garden the other day and was greeted by a beautiful array of strawberries that were just begging to be picked. After I brought them in, my sister, C. and I made strawberry banana smoothies. OMGoodness....it was delicious! And then for dinner, I had vanilla yogurt with what else.....STRAWBERRIES! What a gift from God, so delicious and refreshing.
I have started freezing what we harvest, in hopes that when I have enough, I will be able to make some strawberry preserves. Oh, the thought just tickles me. It doesn't take much to make me happy, let me tell you! :> ) I just love things that are homemade. They are sooooo good for you. And the best part about the veggies and fruit from our garden is that they are all organic! YAY!!!
Are any of you able to harvest from your gardens yet? If so, what have you gotten and what are some things you plan on making with them? I would love to exchange some recipes if anyone is interested.
Well, it's back out to the garden to see what other delicious gifts the Lord has provided us with today!
Blessings~

If God has called you to be like Christ, He may draw you into a life of crucifixion and humility, and put on you such demands of obedience that He will not allow you to follow other Christians, and in many ways He will seem to let other good people do things which He will not let you do.

The
History of
'APRONS'
I don't think our kids know what an apron is. The principal use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress underneath, because she only had a few,it was easier to wash aprons than dresses and they used less material, but along with that, it served as a potholder for removing
hot pans from the oven. It was wonderful for drying children's tears, and on
occasion was even used for cleaning out dirty ears.
From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven.
When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids.
And when the weather was cold, grandma wrapped it around her arms.
Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot wood stove.
Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron.
From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables. After the peas had been shelled, it carried out
the hulls.
In the fall, the apron was used to bring in apples that had fallen from the trees.
When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of seconds.
When dinner was ready, Grandma walked out onto the porch, waved her apron, and the men knew it was time to come in from the fields to dinner.
It will be a long time before someone invents something that will replace that 'old-time apron' that served so many purposes.
REMEMBER:
Grandma used to set her hot baked apple pies on the window sill to cool.
Her granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to thaw.
They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs were on that apron.
* I don't think I ever caught anything from an apron !!!! *
WE got a late start as Skippy found out he didn't have to work that evening.
Kiddo got a Peanut Butter Brownie sundae...
Skippy got a chocolate and vanilla twist cone
and I got an "OMGosh....I'm In Heaven" Rice Krispie Treats Flotzie!
After about and hour 1/2 of driving, we wound up in the little town of Staunton, VA.
So, we kep on driving. I was thrilled when we found a Dollar Tree. Not just ANY Dollar Tree, but one of the biggest I have ever seen. I was so excited that we were going to stop there until I realized that he didn't turn around to go back.
OMGosh......ARE YOU SERIOUS???
On the way home dad took us out to dinner at Golden Corral. The entire day was such a special, much needed treat for all of us. Thank you, Skippy.....YOU'RE THE BEST!

I remember when this picture was taken like it was yesterday. We went on a "surprise" visit to see my brother (he's the 7'1" guy on the left) in TX the day after Christmas '04. We drove 22 hours straight to get there. My sister, B, Iin the purple shirt) and I had planned the whole thing, and to our amazement, none of the kids spilled the beans! LOL I snuck up behind him while he was standing in line to get into the space center. I started complaining to him about how much time he was taking up talking to the lady at the ticket counter. "Sir," I said. "Can you socialize with that young lady later? I am getting extremely hot standing out here while you chit chat!" Well, you should have seen his face when he turned around and saw all 5 of us standing there in front of him.......PRICELESS!
Blessings~
