My Quiet Time

***I have had some very dark and painful days in the past few months. Days where it has been almost impossible to walk or do much of anything else but sit or lie down for long periods of time. This is something that is hard for me to do as I enjoy running and being active, especially getting down on the floor and playing with my granddaughter.

Today, I am again in awe of my Heavenly Father's love and mercy and the sweet and tender way He reminds me to be still, for there is a reason for everything.....even our dark times. How AWESOME He is! This was my devotion for today from
JESUS CALLING..........***

Thank Me for the conditions that our requiring you to be still. Do not spoil these quiet hours by wishing them away, waiting impatiently to be active again. Some of the greatest work in My kingdom have been done from the sickbeds and prison cells. Instead of resenting the limitations of a weakened body, search for My way in the midst of these very circumstances. Limitations can be liberating when you're strongest desire is living close to Me.

Quietness and trust enhance your awareness of My presence with you. Do not despise these simple ways of serving Me. Although you feel cut off from the activity of the world, your quiet trust makes a powerful statement in spiritual realms. My strength and Power show themselves most effective in weakness.

Bible Art Journaling Challenge Week #6 - Love Is

"Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;  bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never fails…!"
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Bible Art Journaling Challenge Week #5 - He Loved Us First

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life!"
John 3:16
When you ask someone which was the first Bible verse they remember learning as a child, this one is usually it and it is probably one of the most if not the most well known verse in the Bible.

Bible Art Journaling Challenge Week #4 - Shout Joyfully

"Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth and sing for joy and sing praises.  Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, With the lyre and the sound of melody.  With trumpets and the sound of the horn Shout joyfully before the King, the Lord!"Psalm 98:4-6

Whenever I read this passage I can't help but think of my mom.  She had such a beautiful voice and sang all the time.  I so miss hearing her sing.

Bible Art Journaling Challenge Week #3 - Bold As A Lion

"The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion!"
Proverbs 28:1
Most people in the challenge have drawn AMAZING lions.  I am by no means an artist and have trouble drawing anything but stick figures so I decided to do this instead.

Bible Art Journaling Challenge Week #2 - Laugh Without Fear

“She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future!”
Proverbs 31:25
This verse comes from that portion of Scripture that refers to the Proverbs 31 woman. You know the one . . . the one we all aspire to be, and if you're like me, some days you resemble her and others....not so much.

Bible Art Journaling Challenge Week #1 - Be Brave

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go!"
Joshua 1:9

My first attempt at art journaling. I just got my new Bible this afternoon but it was the wrong kind so I am using one my dear friend Andrea gave me. Three more weeks worth to do and I'll be all caught up. Thank the Lord He doesn't care how I draw!

Bible Art Journaling

(picture courtesy of Rebehak R. Jones)
Good evening, everyone!  Bible art journaling is part of the growing, ‘Illustrated Faith’ movement where many Christians are creating on the pages of their Bible. The idea is to engage more freely with the Word of God in new ways and to record personally inspiring scriptures in creative and artistic ways, which serve to remind us of moments in our personal journey with God.

What is the Bible Art Journaling Challenge?

Bible Art Journaling is combining bible devotions, creativity and a weekly challenge, to have an amazing year of creative inspiration, community and deepened relationship with God.
This year-long, 2015 Bible Art Journaling Challenge is designed to help us join in with this life-changing and fun movement! I’ll be doing this challenge all year. Please join me and bring your friends!

When is it happening?

Every Tuesday throughout 2015.  The challenge started on January 6th. That’s 52 weeks of life-changing creative fun!
You can join in at any point along the way. You are never late, and you don’t need to do previous weeks if you don’t want. Start when and where you want. Even skip weeks and come back! It’s better you join in sometimes than not at all.
See this as a once-per-week bonus to your time with God as you meditate on His Word with creative pleasure.
I am following and participating in the Bible Art Journaling Challenge on the blog of Rebekah R.Jones.  You will find the link to the first challenge HERE!  I will post pictures of my Bible entries along with the scripture passage and link to that weeks challenge.

Won't you join me in another way to worship our sweet and precious Lord!

Blessings~

Cauliflower Grilled Cheese

I...LOVE....CAULIFLOWER!
I love it any way, shape, or form.  It is an AWESOME substitute for potatoes in so many ways, but the most important reason for me is that it is very low in carbs.  I have made pizza crust with it, mock-aroni and cheese, mashed cauliflower (which is just like mashed potatoes) and a few other yummies as well.

I had been thinking about making grilled cheese with cauliflower but I just kept putting it off.......until my daughter posted a video on facebook the other day.  Thanks, Bean.....you gave me just the right nudge I needed to get up and get cooking.

If you want a quick goto lunch recipe, this really isn't what you are looking for as it does take a little bit of time to prepare.  However, I will say it is definitely worth the effort.

If you make this recipe, please come back and let me know what you thought!  :D

For this recipe, you will need the following, including a food processor OR you can rice the cauliflower yourself (grate by hand):

1 lb frozen cauliflower, thawed
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1 egg, beaten

Put thawed cauliflower in food processor
Pulse until it looks like grated potatoes
 like you find in hasbrowns
 pour out onto cloths
 spread it out
 cover with another cloth
and push down hard to remove the excess water
 add cauliflower to bowl
 add mozzarella
 egg
 and combine
put cauliflower mixture into your hand and squeeze into a patty
 shape further on baking sheet
I used the leftover mixture, adding a little bit of crushed pork rinds (no carbs)
bake at 350* for approximately 20 minutes, or until golden brown
Now I think you know how to do the rest
:D

I sprinkled a little bit of salt on mine while cooking it
 DELICIOUSNESS!!
