Family Lineage

Recently, my niece, cousin, myself and others have been researching our family's lineage on ancestry.com There are a TON of us so tonight I decided to open a facebook page for our family to share pictures and any information they may have regarding our family tree.  So far tonight there have been almost 200 pictures posted, many of which I have never seen before, like this one of my great grandparents on my dad's side.  We have not figured out who the gentleman in the back is yet.
It is WONDERFUL to see these pictures, to finally put faces to the names of those I have heard about all my life.
This is a picture of my Nanny and Grandpa, my dad's parents.  Grandpa died before I was born but Nanny lived till 1996.  She was born in 1900.  It was easy to remember her age because she was as old as the years, making her 96 when she finally passed away.

We now know where our musical abilities came from!  :D

Grandpa is the one in the middle in the back row and
Nanny is in the front row, all the way on the right.

This is the Tombstone of Arent  ~ Dead 1669. He was the first family member to move to Denmark and he was born in Haarlem Holland. He was some sort of ambassadeur of Holland in Denmark. His grave is in front of the altar in the Cathedral in Helsingör in Denmark
This is Jacob Frederik 1765-1844. He was a Danish General and Chamberlain to the Danish king.
Birgitte Eva, Duchess of Gloucester
This is our family's coat of arms.  It was found in a castle in Denmark
It is amazing what you can find when you do a little research!

  1. Good morning Laura,

This is very interesting. It must be a joy to research your history with your family.

Wow, your grandmother lived to be 96! That is a good long life.

I hope you are doing well.
