Please Pray

Today we have to make a big decision. Would you please pray with us that God will give us clear direction, and give us the discernment we need to see and understand His will for us. But most importantly, that we be obedient and follow wherever it is He leads us!

Thank you for your prayers, my friends!!

Praying For My Husband Monday

Today, I am joining Renee over at "GLOW ACADEMY" in Praying For My Husband Monday.

Sweet Lord, I come into Your presence to say a special prayer for my husband. Thank You for the blessing of a godly life companion. I pray that You would continue to grow in him a deep and abiding love for You. Guide him, I pray, as he guides this family; give him wisdom and understanding. Invigorate him with the knowledge of Your grace, and refine him with Your truth. I pray that I would be a helper, a source of encouragement for him; and I pray that he would find this home to be a place of rest and refreshment!  I ask this all in Your precious name....Amen!

Please Pray With Me

Last night, my dear friend Renee over at "Glow Academy", found out that her son and husband were involved in a head on collision with another vehicle.  Jacob has been released from the hospital and is home now with Renee, but Jeff was airlifted to another hospital.  Jeff is in stable condition, but is on a ventilator and heavily sedated to keep him from moving so his body can heal.

Please join me in prayer on their behalf! I know that God can give him ultimate healing!

God bless!

A Prayer Request

". . . The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much!"
James 5:16

When our  work load is heavy, we don't try and handle the load ourselves, we use a team. The same thing holds true when we pray together.  When we do, we increase the spiritual force until it becomes overwhelming and irresistible in power.  I read once, that if our prayers are combined, they are like drops of water that make an ocean that defies resistance. Isn't that an AWESOME thought?  There is no denying that God hears the prayers of one person but when hundreds of us pour out our souls in earnest and fervent prayer, we can storm the gates of heaven with a mighty voice. There IS power in prayer. There is incredible power when we pray in UNITY!

I would like to introduce you to Pastor Steve, our new Associate Pastor For Youth and Family Life at our church. He and his family have been patiently waiting for months for their paperwork to be completed before they can move here from England.

Please join me in earnest prayer that whatever issues are holding things up, that they resolved according to God's will and timing!

My friend Sarah posted this prayer this morning and I would like to share it with you....

"Father, do your work as only you can. Stop the plans of the enemy to come against Steve and his family as well as any plans he has concerning paperwork. We believe you already are at work and the victory is yours! Your word tells us there are some things that only come about with prayer and fasting!" Amen

Please Pray With Me

Will you please join me in praying for a close friend of Andrea's over at "Arise 2 Write," MaryGrace. On Monday morning she received a heartbreaking call about her friend. She was hospitalized after severe complications in ICU/critical condition. Andrea has been contacting all the prayer groups she knows, asking them to pray for a miracle. Today, we come to you asking for your continued prayer, but also PRAISING GOD for her progress since Monday. She is speaking and moving her limbs.

Please continue to storm the heavens with Andrea for continued miracles in and through MaryGrace's life.

Edie from Rich Gifts was gracious enough to make a prayer button for MaryGrace. Please pick up the prayer button for your blogs by copying the html on Andrea's right sidebar.

THANK YOU, Edie!

Please Keep Us In Your Prayers

"God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a calm, well balanced mind!"
II Timothy 1:7

This morning, I will be taking Kiddo to UVA to meet with the Pediatric Cardiologist. A few weeks ago, I took him for his yearly check up with the Brain Injury Clinic and wound up having to take him to our family physician because of a decreasing heart rate. (to see story, click HERE!)

Please keep us in your prayers that all will go well. I am not exactly sure all that will be going on today, but as I have mentioned before, I have a complete peace about this. I know my Heavenly Father is the Great Physician and is IN COMPLETE CONTROL!

Thank you for your prayers, sweet friends!

Please Pray With Me

I have heard from so many of my friends this week that they are in need of prayer. Please join me in lifting them up.....God knows their requests!

Dear Heavenly Father.....I lift my sweet friends up to you this afternoon. You know their needs, Lord. You know the who, what, where, when, and hows, Lord, of whatever it is that they are going through. You are there, Father, through every wonderful moment and every sad moment. Through the storms in their lives, but also in the calm of it all as well. Please touch their hearts and be with them in whatever way they need, sweet Father, whether spiritually, physically, emotionally, or financially. We know that you will be there to guide and comfort them, love them and strengthen them. You are the great I Am, and all things are possible through You!

I ask this all in Your precious, Holy name.....AMEN!

Kiddo Update

Today has been a day for doctor visits. Kiddo and I had one this morning, and now we are waiting at the library while my sister is at hers.

I want to thank all of you who were praying for Kiddo this morning. Your prayers are GREATLY APPRECIATED!

When we arrived at the doctors this morning, they took Kiddo's vital signs and his blood pressure was 110/70 and his heart rate was 80. What a difference from 38 last week! Our doctor odered an EKG that was done right there in the office. When it was finished, Doctor Jeff read the results and said that everything looked fine. PRAISE GOD! However, just to be on the safe side, he wants us to follow up with the Pediatric Cardiologist at UVA.

I was talking with two very dear friends this morning who both said they had a peace about all of this. I feel the same way. I don't feel worried because I know that my GOD IS IN CONTROL and He has a plan.

I know that whatever the outcome may be, GOD WILL BE UPLIFTED AND GLORIFIED!!

Please Pray With Me

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future!"
Jeremiah 29:11

Please pray with me this morning for my son, Kiddo. We have a doctor's appointment at 9:30 with our family physician. In his normal check-up last week at the Brain Injury Clinic, they discovered that at each visit, his heart rate has slowly gotten lower. It has gone from in the 70's to 38. As of yet, they don't know why this is. It could just be that this is how he is just going to be, but to make sure, we are going to see our doctor this morning.

Please pray for God's will be done, whatever that may be. I know that our Precious Heavenly Father IS IN CONTROL!

Please Pray With Me.....

Pray for Amden

This precious little bundle of joy is Amden Alecole Horne. His is Andrea's great-nephew! Below, please read the post Andrea has on her blog. Won't you join me in praying not only for precious Amden, but for her daughter-in-law, Jennifer as well. Jennifer's story is at the bottom of her post.

God bless you, sweet Prayer Warriors!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I come to you with a full heart, asking for prayer. My great nephew, Amden Alecole Horne was born on Monday, February 15th, 2010. He is a beautifully handsome little man, weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces and 19 inches long. He was born to young parents who love him very much, Jordan and Amber.

Today, Amden was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. They will run more tests tomorrow to verify or rule out this diagnosis. This is a devastating diagnosis! Please pray for Amden and his parents.

My family has come to understand that I look at things differently. What one person sees as devastating, I see as a part of GOD's divine plan. I see the good in strange or difficult things. Don't get me wrong, my heart breaks for my nephew Jordan and Amber. I know they must be scared and overwhelmed.

As I prayed this afternoon, GOD spoke clearly to me! This is what I heard:

"I will use this precious life to teach your family and many others what real love is...when you look into Amden's eyes you will see the love of Christ. He will be a blessing in your families life."

With love and prayers,

Andrea

PS: I am sorry I have not been able to visit with any of you, today. As I finished typing this, the phone rang. My daughter in law's estranged father was tragically killed in another state. This is another difficult situation. He has not been a part of her life. He was in and out of jail and lived homeless for some time. Please also pray for Jennifer. She has some tough decisions to make regarding his body, her siblings, etc. She is only 23 years old. Her mother abandoned her as a small child and she has buried her grandparents who raised her. She belongs to Doug and I, now. We promised her grandmother on her death bed that we would always be here for her. I thank each of you for faithfully praying for my family, extended family, and all those I love!

I wanted you to know about Abby. She was adopted from Guatemala. At three years old, she was diagnosed with a high-risk, aggressive form of Leukemia. Certain genetic complications have put her chance of surviving the treatment at about 20%.

Praying For A Friend

"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, My Savior and my God." Psalm 42:5-6

Dear Heavenly Father....I uplift my sweet friend J. to you this afternoon. You know what's on her heart, Lord. You know the request and the details that surround it. Please be with her and those she is concerned about. Give them all abundant strength and PEACE during this "desert season" time. Continue to shower them all with the love that only You can give.

We know there are times in our lives when it may seem to us that you are far away, but you are not. You are there, just as you always are, waiting for us to call out to you, Abba, Father. Waiting for us to reach out and take your hand and allow You to help us up out of the miry clay.

Lord, I ask that you allow those that are on J.'s heart tonight, come to the point where their ears will be opened, their hearts softened, and their hands extended towards you to receive your never ending guidance and grace. We know that with You, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!

I ask this all in Your precious, Holy name.....AMEN!

In Need Of Prayer

SKIPPY UPDATE #2:
“The best way to appreciate your job is to imagine yourself without one.”
THANK THE LORD, we don't have to imagine that anymore. Skippy starts his new job with Bowman Apple on November 16th, just in time for our anniversary. What a GIFT!!!
WOO HOO!
Hey God......thanks for showing off in a big way today!!! I ♥ YOU!

SKIPPY UPDATE #1: He said the interview was looooooong and that the supervisor is going to push for them to hire him. He should know something within a day or two. It would be 5-10 hour days with 10 hours of overtime each week. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY that this is the Lord's will. I know that WHATEVER the outcome, God WILL BE uplifted and glorified!

As some of you know, my dear Skippy will be losing his job in the next four weeks. He has been searching for a job locally, but there is nothing available in our small town.

We have been praying for peace from God and direction in all of this. God has revealed many things to Skippy And I over the past few months and we are learning, although we fall miserably short, to COMPLETELY trust and obey our Heavenly Father!

Would you please be in prayer with us tomorrow as Skippy has an interview with Bowman Apple in the morning. They have a few positions that have in mind for him and we are excited to see what path our lives will take. If this is where God is leading us, then I hope that everything goes well and we are able to discern that it IS God's will for us. If not, we will continue to seek His will for our family, whatever that may be.

Thank you, my friends. May you be abundantly blessed in all you do!

Hurting and In Need Of Prayer

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Have you had a friend turn on you so quickly that it hurt you right down to the very center of your heart? Something that has made you now second guess your entire friendship from the very beginning?

This is me right now and I don't know what to do. It has caused me much pain and anger and a feeling of betrayal. I am having a very hard time with this. I know that prayer is the best medicine for this ill feeling I have over this whole thing.

I ask that you please pray with me that God will give me the guidance and understanding to do what is right in how to handle this situation.
